Char Vandermeer, Copywriter & Founder

Words Matter Co is a collective of creative humans who believe that copy, design, UX/UI, and branding makes a bigger impact when we work together strategically. Yes, our work is smart, but we also really like working together. I may be the ringleader, but I get my hands in there, too. At heart, I'm a content strategist, content creator, and technical writer. I create messaging strategies and write website copy. I love a good research-based blog, and feature articles and scripting bring me joy.

With degrees in English and communication and a curiosity about almost anything; copywriting, technical writing, and UX writing is a natural fit. In addition to creating original web content, research-driven blogs, to-the-second video scripts, scannable emails, and strategic message maps, I’ve also whipped up newsletters, flyers, brochures, postcards, paid social campaigns, professional bios, and radio spots.

Some of the clients that I’ve had the pleasure of supporting include small businesses, enterprise-level corporations, government agencies, nonprofits, financial advisors, law firms, spring manufacturers, metal fabrication shops, healthcare providers, and more.

You can find me rambling around East Nashville with my teacup pittie (AKA a pitbull/chihuahua mutt) but I have wandered quite happily along Michigan's beaches (AKA The Big Lake) and put my miles in along South Philadelphia's sidewalks (AKA pavements).

I’m a damn good veggie gardener and a decent cook, a ravenous reader, a mediocre mandolinist, and so-so potter. More to the point: I’m a curious and efficient writer. And I call it like I see it.
